Each member of our illustrator team picked their personal favorite book covers they designed for Gramedia within the recent months. Do judge the book by its cover.
01. Complicated Thing Called Love – Irene Dyah
—
Unless you’re afraid of height, it’s hard not to love Ferris wheel (and the feelings and memories that come rushing in the moment you’re immersed in the story).
02. From Sumatera with Love – Esi Lahur
—
Commissioned for Esi Lahur’s series of love (From Sumatera with Love and From Flores with Love), the cover will steal the heart of teen-lit readers with its colorful and playful illustration that emulates the bright blue ocean.
03. Genduk – Sundari Mardjuki
—
Genduk was shortlisted for 5 Best Prose from 2016 Kusala Sastra Khatulistiwa, a prestigious literary award in Indonesia, and the cover was nominated as one of the most favorite book covers of Anugerah Pembaca Indonesia (2016). Suffice to say, Genduk is literally and visually cool.
04. Finding You Among the Stars – Eka Annisa
—
For a book that chronicles the stories about love and intertwining fates, the cover fits perfectly. It reminds us that our feet can stay on the ground, but our hopes might lie among the stars.
05. Sing Me Home – Emma Grace
—
The cover art is simple and dreamy–enough to carry the readers to delve deeper into the thrills and pitfalls of the characters.
